Beetlejuice

(BD TOP NEWS  BLOG)_ Beetlejuice is a dark comedy that was made by Tim Burton in 1988. It tells the story of a newly deceased couple, Adam and Barbara Maitland, who turn into ghosts haunting their own home. When an infuriating family, the Deetzes, arrives into their house, the Maitlands have a problem scaring them away and call into service a mischievous "bio-exorcist" known as Betelgeuse, or "Beetlejuice," as played by Michael Keaton.

He's no ordinary ghost, Beetlejuice is literally eccentric, crude, and chaotic in his signature black-and-white striped suit from another dimension. This would be Keaton's wild-eyed performance as Beetlejuice brings the character to life in unforgettable ways--blending humor with the macabre. The themes tackled in the movie are very interesting: death, the afterlife, and even the tedium-slash-supernatural friction between worlds, all mixed and cooked in Burton's signature visual style and mix of dark humor and whimsy.

Clever humor, inventive visual effects, and a unique take on the afterlife helped Beetlejuice to become an instant cult favorite. The character went on to inspire an animated television series, a Broadway musical, keeping the legend alive across generations. The iconic characters, memorable lines of dialogue, and inventive set design provide Beetlejuice with continuous influence on dark comedy and fantasy. see more:
